ACCESS ASSINGMENT



TO BE PRESENTED IN CLASS ON WEEK 14 (FINAL WEEK)
ACCESS ASSINGMENT: (70 marks)

This is a group project for no more than 4 people. In this project, your group need to develop a database system using MS Access for one small business company. Start your project by preparing a proposal to get the approval from your lecturer. Information in the proposal must have. Prepare and submit your proposal next week (8 mei) during class:

Proposal Requirement: (10 marks)
  1. Identify the specific types of business you want to develop the database.
  2. Mention the purpose of your database.
  3. Design on paper 5 main table and their field for this database. Each table must have at least 6 fields.
  4. Explain how you will do the relationship for your tables.
  5. Bring your group proposal contain this information’s for your lecturer approval on third week access class.
  6. When you get the approval you can continue with your project.
What need to be included in the database system? You must include at least (this is min requirement. You can create more than this).
Database System Requirements: (60 marks)
  1. 5 main tables (include all what you have learn about design table eg: field name, data types, description and field properties. For data types, please include all types of data eg: date, currency, yes/no, lookup wizard, OLE object, hyperlink, attachment, text, memo, auto number) (10 marks)
  2. For the main table, the record must be more than 10 record. (10 marks)
  3. Create the relationship between tables. (5 marks)
  4. Then create 5 queries. (5 marks)
  5. Create 5 forms using different style eg: form and sub form. Include command button in form to link to other form and to the switch board. (10 marks)
  6. Create 5 reports .(5 marks)
  7. Create 1 start-up page (5 marks)
  8. Create 1 switchboard (MIN 10 BUTTON: 5 BUTTON FOR FORM AND 5 FOR REPORT) (5 marks)
  9. Your database must have calculation in form and in queries. (5 marks)
  10. Design and format all your forms and reports nicely by including the same header and footer. (5 marks)
